the company i keep is such
in solitude my friends they'll be
and they've become my wooden crutch
they offer me their magic touch
ascending me to ecstacy
the company i keep is such
short-lived the highs aren't very much
i crash and then return to see
that they've become my wooden crutch
in spite of this they close my hutch
of pain but temporarily
the company i keep is such
and every episodic notch
is covered so i think i'm free
oh they've become my wooden crutch
and i return a darker blotch
my soul more stained by small degrees
the company i keep is such
that they've become my wooden crutch
