the sky will weigh on every single back
we hate the winter but can't take the spring
the light reminds us of all that we lack
the storm has driven us far off the track
we hear the cry of bird with broken wing
the sky will weigh on every single back
no old crone's here to pop us in a sack
but still we worry what new day will bring
the light reminds us of all that we lack
our hearts right now could not withstand attack
we're trapped within a slowly closing ring
the sky will weigh on every single back
the bonds that link us have become too slack
but no ties can protect us from the sting
the light reminds us of all that we lack
and at the end we know we'll fade to black
none will remember and no one will sing
the sky will weigh on every single back
the light reminds us of all that we lack
