the sky above will never send a sign
earth is not solid under human feet
we do not understand the party line
no spokesman could do much more than whine
and claim the sour should have been far more sweet
the sky above will never send a sign
to other purposes we might incline
and other faces we would have to greet
e do not understand the party line
there is no power we could call divine
it's with each other that we must compete
the sky above will never send a sign
there's neither long-term purpose nor design
whoever tells you otherwise is a cheat
we do not understand the party line
our hearts and minds you have to undermine
in manner and in form always discreet
the sky above will never send a sign
we do not understand the party line
