who eats the light and expands into dark
may find the shape of things will much betray
though none may ever come up to the mark
no one that's born has ever lacked the spark
that names the one between the night and day
who eats the light and expands into dark
an aging tree will simply shed its bark
and so to nature its essence convey
though none may ever come up to the mark
we find the choices to be thin and stark
for no one has the time to laugh and play
who eats the light and expands into dark
the greatest enemy's not wolf or shark
but those who feel that we may go astray
though none may ever come up to the mark
from every vessel the wise disembark
to find the one who knows best what to say
who eats the light and expands into dark
though none may ever come up to the mark
