Instead of praying
I'm dilly-dallying and
salvation's delaying.
With poems I'm playing,
some poor and some grand,
instead of praying.
All that I'm saying,
I'm wasting my time and
salvation's delaying.
A short time we're staying
on Earth, my time's wasted
instead of praying.
With fasting and praying
I'll come close to God, but
salvation's delaying.
I'm sure to be paying
for time and life wasted
instead of praying,
salvation's delaying.
