Refrain from lurking in my brain,
since you have stormed out of the door,
I hold you not, so flee, my pain.
You are the heart's sink's lowest drain,
the middle of the heart's house floor,
Refrain from lurking in my brain.
Don't come around my place again,
I've toiled the hardest living chore.
I hold you not, so flee, my pain.
I've swept the heart-shards you disdain,
this red glass vase thrown to the floor.
Refrain from lurking in my brain.
I've locked the wood against the grain,
yet as a ghost floats through the door,
I hold you not, so flee, my pain.
You stand here bringing with you rain,
with thunder, lightning, and then more.
Refrain from lurking in my brain,
I hold you not, so flee, my pain.
